Beauty in Benson

It is seldom that driving is a pleasant experience for me. But when I get a chance to get out to the quaint and cozy town of Benson, NC to enjoy a beautiful wedding at the fabulous Preston Woodall House, I really don't mind the drive.

Samantha and David met with me on Valentine's Day and booked me on the spot. I always feel lucky when a couple has a connection with my work and is excited to work with me. It probably didn't hurt, though, that I was wearing a ton of cologne for my own big date that night.

I just found out yesterday that I cracked the Top 10 for the Artistic Wedding Photojournalist Association ([AG]WPJA) - for the third straight time. I have lots of people to thank for the honor; but most importantly, I need to thank my clients Brooks Ann and Charles. They gave me a really unique wedding to cover and I was just inspired to be around them. In fact, all of the winning images are from their wedding.

It's a pretty humbling experience having your name up there with some of the world's greatest photographers. I'll do my best not to let the noggin' swell too much.
