Meghan and Mitch - one cool couple

I really loved shooting Meghan and Mitch's wedding. They are sort of royalty in Chapel Hill. Meghan is opening a chocolate shop in Chapel Hill soon - be on the lookout for that. (I know I will). Their wedding started in Chapel Hill on the day of the Tarheels vs. Villanova game. There were lines around the corner for bars at 11 a.m. Crazy. So, it was a pretty amazing atmosphere for the getting ready portion of the day.

Then, we were treated to an amazing ceremony at Pine Lake Pavilion in Mebane, NC. This place is gorgeous - beautiful land and a pristine lake. An amazing backdrop for this couple. If the scenery weren't awe-inspiring enough. Meghan had to go and show up in a horse and carriage that rode her around the lake. Now, that's an entrance.

The tent was spectacularly lit by SimpSound of Raleigh. And my officemate Joe Bunn of Bunn DJ Company got the party rockin'.

Thanks for a wonderful evening guys. Here are some pics:

New Wins...

I feel really lucky to have had an awesome year with weddings in 2008. I've been proud of my accomplishments with one organization in particular - the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). I know I've been posting a lot of contest wins lately - I'm just really excited for the brides when one of their special moments does well in competition. And this competition is TOUGH. The winners are picked from thousands of entries from photographers throughout the world.

The WPJA is making some cool changes to its website - so go on in and click around and get inspired.

Here are my winning images from the fourth quarter contest:
