Full Circle...

I have a lot of fond memories of Michael Bell... As reporters, we shared a dingy office space in Zebulon writing and photographing stories for a community paper. I was there for the death of his beloved plant, "Mr. P." We were part of a staff that won a 1st place general excellence award. It was my last newspaper job before I took the full-time journey into wedding photography. It seems like both yesterday and 10,000 years ago.

Bell has since opened a successful shop in Durham. And he's been busy falling in love with Megan. He proposed a few weeks ago and honored me by requesting my services.

Another beautiful Umstead wedding

When I met Danielle and Adam, it was clear how important family was to the couple. And during the ceremony, that fact created a touching service filled with loving moments. Living in Wilmington, the duo needed to find a convenient and elegant spot for guests from across the country - so they landed at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary. That's always a good decision.

I'm a terrible blog poster...

Well, I've been pretty lazy about my blog posts this year. So, I thought I'd catch us up a bit this week.

First up, this is Betsy. She's the founder of petfinder.com. Millions of people have found their furry companions through the online service. I knew this would be a truly unique wedding and knew Megan and Kailey at A Southern Soiree would do an awesome job planning and coordinating the event. When mother nature decided to dump a summer storm on us after the ceremony, Kailey and the team quickly reacted, making sure the dinner and reception would keep guests on the dry side. I'm always amazed how a good planning team can rescue an event.

Check out some of the pics below.
