Hitched at Duke

I normally don't get in the middle of all the college rivalry stuff that goes on in North Carolina. But my UNC buddies have to give it to Duke University - their chapel is one of the most beautiful churches in the country and easily one of the most recognizable. The reception venue at Sarah P. Duke Gardens is absolutely gorgeous.

Brandi and Matt made sure the place was decked out for their big night.

Fearrington Village people...

Megan and Jeremy picked the best date to celebrate their beautiful marriage - July 25. And it was a great day for me because it was my birthday. So, I made sure to swipe an extra piece of cake.

Set at the beautiful Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, it was a perfect day.

This one takes the cake...

Sorry, I couldn't resist the cliché in the title. This one really deserves it.

Ashey and David's beautiful New Bern wedding featured a cake made by Ashley's dad, Scott. Now, I'm not recommending that other fathers or moms try to pull something like this off - for the most part, you should leave this stuff to the professionals. But this was a special case. Scott had baked all of the cakes for his two girls' birthdays - and he wanted to extend that sweet treatment to the wedding.

Anyway, he did a terrific job.

I was joined by my buddy Ken Holmes of Bunn DJ Company. He really rocked it.
